It is an honor and great pleasure to welcome you all to this esteemed institution for the academic year 2021-2022.  Arts and Commerce College, Lanja was established on 17th June 1996, and Science Faculty was started later in June 2009 by New Education Society, Lanja run by a private management educational body.  The college is situated in the dense forest of the Western Ghats of India. New Education Society is one of the premier education societies in Maharashtra state.  Arts, Commerce and Science  College, Lanja has been promoting the cause of value-based higher education with total commitment for the last 25 years.  The college started in 1996 with 117 students and 6 departments and expanded to about 1000 students and 11 departments in 2021-2022.  The college has bagged the best college award in 2013-14 by the University of Mumbai, Mumbai, and the college has been accredited by NAAC with an A grade in the third cycle of accreditation.  Currently, we are preparing for our fourth NAAC accreditation which will be held in the month of August 2023.

Our college has the quality framework as a point of attraction and hence we are now an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution.  We also have participation in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA).  We continuously work for quality enhancement and we are committed to the fulfillment of our goals and objectives. We participate in every government of India campaign for the betterment of higher education such as the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) and participation in India Swachhata Rankings along with the formation and implementation of the Swachhata Action Plan of our institution.

Currently, our College has got funding of Rs. 2 Crores under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) from the Ministry of Higher and Technical Education, Government of India.  The said funding is under component 9 which is Infrastructure grants to colleges under RUSA 2.0.  Our college continuously receives funding from UGC and other bodies for the betterment and enhancement of quality education and research.

Our college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different subjects.  The college has an enriched library with the latest books and online journals in Humanities, Commerce, and Science subjects.   The college has a well-equipped Gymkhana that helps in augmenting a sense of true sportsmanship in students.  Our students have participated in various sports events at Zonal, District, State, University, and national level competitions and have bagged many prizes. The college has well-equipped and spacious laboratories and advanced modern computer labs. We also run different types of certificate courses which are helping students to enhance their skill-based knowledge. I take this honor to highlight a few certificate courses (Certificate course in Nursery Management, Certificate course in Spoken English, Certificate course in Soft skills development) that have benefited a lot of our students.

College helps students to realize their goals and achieve them effectively with experienced and dedicated teachers. Apart from this, the convenient location, spacious classrooms, healthy teaching-learning environment, and various college committees managed by the staff members have assisted in developing the right temperament of the students. The student developed in such an inspiring climate has every prospect of becoming a responsible and mature citizen of the nation who will climb the ladder of success.  The strong community involvement and a commitment to community services through the National Service Scheme (NSS), the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), the Cultural Department, literary and value-added programs and achievements in humanities provide each of our students with an avenue for personal growth. Many of our students have been successful in bagging University level medals in academic, sports as well as cultural events.

Being the principal of such an auspicious institution I consider it an honor to walk around the college campus and assist everyone in their development which eventually fosters the progress of the college.
